Daily Update Links - Mostly to spiteful columnists
- Bruce Haertl at the Kansas News is vexed. Terribly vexed. Some good perspective here though.
- AOL Sports: Bill Belichick: Forever a Villain? - what, because he was a lovable teddy bear of a guy before that every member of the media fawned over?
- Ray Ratto at CBSportsline.com says that SpyGate taints all in its wake. Except for the Evil Patriots Blog, which uses this as sustenance!
- Reiss' Pieces - You should just go there every couple of hours if the internet makes up most of your day.
- Bob Ryan steps up to take a turn at tsk tsking the great and powerful Belichick. I don't remember Bob Ryan going off on Red Auerbach in the 80's when he's jack up the temperature in the visitor locker rooms. Maybe I was just too young to get through an entire Bob Ryan column at that time and play connect the tangents.
- Gregg Easterbrook wants Belichick's Head on a platter. Since he's not going to get that he'll settle for a year long suspension. Be careful what you ask for. TMQB will be full of more supernova discoveries and stop before I punt again schtick if there is no anti-christ to rail against.
- MMQB - Peter King doesn't believe Bill Belichick could have misunderstood the rules. He does get some good opinions from players (mostly former) about whether the Patriots' run was tainted.
- Gary Meyers' column from Sunday's New York Daily News on Herm Edwards being aware of SpyGate in 2004.
- CBSportsline.com's Mike Freeman says that the more he hears about SpyGate the more he believes its no big deal and that every team was doing it,
- Senator Arlen Specter (R) Pennsylvania, tells the New York Times that he plans to call Roger Goodell before his Judiciary Committee to explain why he destroyed the Patriots' tapes from Spygate. His letter to the commissioner and Goodell's response are linked there as well. Nothing like an Eagles fan abusing his political office to try to force an issue that has nothing to do with the Senate. At least the MLB hearings involved illegal substances and that was still largely unnecessary
